Eligibility Criteria: Are You Eligible?

1. Age Limit (Date of Birth Block)

For Intake 01/2027, the IAF has specified a strict age bracket:

• Minimum Age: Candidates born on or after January 1, 2006.

• Maximum Age: Candidates born on or before July 1, 2009.

• Crucial Note: The candidate must not exceed 21 years of age on the date of enrolment.

2. Educational Qualification

The recruitment is divided into two categories: Science Subjects and Other than Science Subjects.

• Science Subjects:

  • 10+2/Intermediate with Mathematics, Physics, and English from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English.

  • OR 3-Year Engineering Diploma (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/CS/IT/Instrumentation) with 50% aggregate and 50% in English.

  • OR 2-Year Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics with 50% aggregate and 50% in English.

• Other than Science Subjects:

  • 10+2/Intermediate in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

  • OR 2-Year Vocational Course with 50% aggregate and 50% in English.

3. Marital Status

Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible. Enrolled Agniveervayu must remain unmarried for the entire four-year engagement period.

Physical & Medical Standards

The IAF maintains high physical standards. Before applying, ensure you meet the following:

• Height: Minimum 152.5 cms (Relaxation for specific regions).

• Chest: Well-proportioned with a minimum 5 cms expansion.

• Weight: Proportionate to height and age.

• Vision: 6/12 in each eye, correctable to 6/6.

• Hearing: Normal (able to hear forced whisper from 6 meters).

• Dental: Minimum 14 dental points.

Salary Structure & "Seva Nidhi" Package

The financial package for Agniveervayu is highly competitive, increasing every year:

1. Year 1: ₹30,000 (In-hand: ₹21,000)

2. Year 2: ₹33,000 (In-hand: ₹23,100)

3. Year 3: ₹36,500 (In-hand: ₹25,550)

4. Year 4: ₹40,000 (In-hand: ₹28,000)

Seva Nidhi Package: After 4 years, you will receive approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs (your contribution + govt contribution + interest) as a tax-free lump sum. Additionally, you are covered by a ₹48 Lakhs non-contributory life insurance.

Selection Process: The Road to the Blue Sky

The selection is divided into three major phases:

Phase-I: Online Written Test

• Science: 60 Minutes (English, Physics, Maths).

• Other than Science: 45 Minutes (English, RAGA - Reasoning & General Awareness).

• Both: 85 Minutes (Physics, Maths, English, RAGA).

• Marking: +1 for correct, -0.25 for incorrect.

Phase-II: ASC Testing

Shortlisted candidates will undergo:

1. Document Verification.

2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

   • 1.6 Km Run: Males (7 mins), Females (8 mins).

   • Strength Test: Push-ups, Sit-ups, and Squats.

3. Adaptability Tests: To assess suitability for the military lifestyle.

Phase-III: Medical Examination

Conducted by the Air Force Medical Team. Candidates declared unfit can appeal via the Appeal Medical Board by paying a fee of ₹40.
